Home/Views status report

Vice President of College Advancement Kelly Kerner sponsored Home 4 — the first phase of Bates’ new online experience — in December, 2008, with project kick-off in January, 2009. In April, he sponsored Views 2, a prototype of text, images, audio, and video produced by professional and student staff. The sites were integrated in May.

As executive producer, managing editor, and project manager, Jay Collier brought together current research and nearly a dozen focus groups to create the vision, strategy, and architecture for the Home and Views sites. He led the advisory team, managed two external agencies, selected and edited content from print publications, wrote new text about the Bates experience, selected and trained staff on the project software, and supervised students who posted nearly 1,000 stories.
